Teamfight Tactics
K.O. Coliseum

Teamfight Tactics (TFT), an auto-battler strategy game, debuted its first anime fighting tournament-inspired set. I was tasked with writing the creative platform (world, action, tone, big idea, and rallying cry) for the campaign, pitching and aligning product and marketing teams on the set name, writing the script for an anime opening-inspired cinematic and collaborating with our partner vendor Brunch Studio, and overseeing all copy across the campaign. â€‹

For the cinematic, I selected which characters from the set to cast, working closely with product and creative leadership to choose a mix of popular, high-cost, and visually unique champions. Although there is no dialogue in the script, I still had to employ other narrative tools including plot, theme, tropes, cameos, and character dynamics & behaviors, while staying true to the emotional beats of the chosen song, all within 1 minute and 30 seconds. Once we were out of pre-production, I stayed on throughout the production and post-production phases to provide creative feedback and ensure the narrative integrity of the piece.

Players around the world applauded the devs for an exciting and authentic new set, and the cinematic received similar praise, becoming TFT's most popular video within ten days of launch.​​​​​
